The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) is committed to safeguard public health by ensuring the consistent availability of safe, efficacious, and quality medicines nationwide. Recognizing the critical impact of drug shortages, particularly of essential and lifesaving medicines, on patient well-being, DRAP is proactively working to monitor and resolve these issues with utmost urgency, utilizing all available regulatory flexibilities.
DRAP has created a dedicated email address, drugshortage∂dra.gov.pk, to serve as a central point for reporting drug shortages. This dedicated channel will enable us to gather timely and accurate information, facilitating swift assessment and appropriate regulatory interventions. In order to ensure the effectiveness of this reporting mechanism, above mentioned email address need to be disseminated to the administrations of all hospitals. Encouraging healthcare establishments to report (format enclosed) any observed drug shortages to drugshortage∂dra.gov.pk will be invaluable in providing DRAP with a comprehensive understanding of the situation on the ground. To significantly enhance our ability to effectively monitor drug availability, DRAP is establishing a direct line of communication with public sector hospitals. Therefore, we request your cooperation in nominating dedicated Focal Points within your esteemed institution by completing this data collection form. By nominating a Focal Point, your hospital will directly contribute to faster identification and resolution of potential drug shortages affecting your patients through below QR code or URL.
